Always check fuses or breakers first prior to beginning your trouble shooting journey! In-line fuses are supplied by the Boat Builder or the end user. Lenco does not provide this product and cannot advise on the location. In most cases the Inline fuse is connected to the RED power wire coming from the Lenco Switch control box.
Step 1: Check the connections where the actuator wires meet the Switch control box wires on the side that is not functioning.
Step 2: Find the color the wires for the specific side that is not functioning.
Step 3: Disconnect both the Black & White actuator wires from the switch control box Wires leaving the connectors on the switch control box wires.
Step 4: Touch the White wire lead to a Positive (+) 12V battery terminal and the Black wire lead to a Negative (-) 12V battery terminal. The actuator should extend while connected to the battery. Reverse the polarity of the wire leads to the battery terminals and the actuator should retract.
Step 5: If the actuator does not extend and retract you may have a defective actuator and it will need to be replaced. To determine which actuator you have and the part number click here. actuator types and part number. If the actuator does extend and retract properly, Re-connect the black and white wire leads back to the switch control box wireleads (black to black & white to white) and try to run the actuator from the keypad. If the actuator works properly the problem was a bad connection(s). Congratulations, you just repaired your trim tab system. (I suggest checking the other connections)
If after you reconnect the wire leads properly and the actuator does not work from the key pad then the problem may be in the Switch Control box or Key pad. Call Lenco marine or send a detailed e-mail regarding the steps you followed and your status after testing and a Customer Service representative will contact you promptly.
